FeatherCap

Living Landscapes
Design & Consultation

Edible, climate-ready landscape design for Portland-area yards — from someone who reads your site before suggesting a single plant.

Why FeatherCap

I started FeatherCap because most landscape design ignores what a yard can actually do. I work with homeowners in the Portland area who want their land to feed them, support wildlife, manage water, and get more interesting every year — not just look good in spring.

My approach is grounded in permaculture principles and Pacific Northwest ecology. I read your site first — sun, drainage, soil, microclimate — then design systems that fit how you actually live, at a pace you can build yourself or with a crew you hire.

How it works

  1. 1
Fit callA short conversation to see if your yard and my practice are a good match.
  2. 2
Site conversationNinety minutes walking your land, with a written summary within 48 hours.
  3. 3
DesignA written plan: plant palette, water and soil systems, and a phasing plan you can follow.
  4. 4
CoachingOptional on-site sessions while you and your crew bring the plan to life.
